SIP-Trunk

A SIP trunk is an IP-based, direct-dial telephone connection that links a telephone system to a telephone provider. With SIP trunking, multiple extensions of a telephone system can simultaneously make and conduct calls. The setup and control of IP-based communication (VoIP) are handled via the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP). SIP trunks are replacing ISDN-based telephone system connections.
