The detector communicates wirelessly and is powered by batteries (3x 1.5 V AA).

If the detector is used without being assigned to a control panel or if communication with the control panel is lost, it operates in autonomous mode (EN 14604).

The detector reports a dangerous situation visually with an integrated LED and a siren. It can report acoustically:

• a fire alarm that is detected by the detector itself
• a fire alarm reported by the system (an alarm triggered by another fire detector)
• another type of alarm (e.g. a burglar alarm)
• alarms reported by the system. The areas for which the alarm is indicated can be armed.

The product contains two separate detectors - an optical smoke detector and a heat detector. The optical smoke detector works on the scattered light principle. It reacts very sensitively to particles in thick smoke. It reacts less sensitively to particles created by the burning of liquids such as alcohol. For this reason, a heat detector is integrated that reacts better to fires that develop heat quickly with little smoke.

The fire detector should be installed by a trained installer with a valid Jablotron certificate. The detector is not suitable for installation in industrial environments.
