All-in-one device with fanless design

The performance models USG40/60 have everything included: comprehensive protection, VPN connectivity, an integrated WLAN controller and the USG40W/60W an integrated WLAN access point (AP). The fanless design of these four models is also a big plus. The main areas of application are home and remote offices, small branches and small companies.
Robust VPN

The ZyXEL USG supports high data throughput for IPSec, L2TP-over-IPSec and SSLVPN connections. They enable numerous site-to-site and site-to-client VPN configurations. The advanced SHA-2 encryption and IKEv2 support ensure optimal security and stability. The revised wizard also simplifies the setup of L2TP VPN. Simple client installations are carried out using the VPN settings wizard. The VPN definition preconfigured on the USG can be automatically adopted by the user during installation. Plus: SSL VPN client support is now also available for Mac OSX!
Unified Security Policy Concept

The biggest change for administrators is probably the new policy concept, in which firewall and UTM profiles are combined. Now everything is centrally located in one place - this offers more flexibility, but also requires advance planning.
Integrated access point

The USG40 and 60 are available with or without WLAN. The USG40W has an integrated 802.11b/g/n single-radio AP, while the USG60W is equipped with an 802.11a/b/g/n dual-radio AP. As a desktop firewall in a small office, both USGs also cover WLAN needs. If the integrated AP is not sufficient, the network can be expanded with additional APs.
WLAN controller

The WLAN controller integrated in all new USG models supports CAPWAP and enables central authentication and access management of multiple access points and multiple SSIDs in the network.
Application Intelligence

The USG series detects, categorizes and controls over 3,000 web applications from the areas of social, gaming, business, etc. User-specific security rules can be implemented. Application Patrol helps IT managers prioritize important web applications and minimize network risks. Bandwidth can be reserved for critical applications, while unwanted streaming or file sharing is throttled or blocked.
