Smoke detector
Smoke detectors are technical devices capable of detecting and reporting smoke at an early stage. A smoke detector, also commonly called a smoke alarm, should be distinguished from a smoke gas detector and a fire alarm. The smoke gas detector measures the concentration of gases typically produced by fires in the air. It triggers an alarm when the limit values for carbon dioxide and/or carbon monoxide are exceeded. Therefore, smoke gas detectors are particularly useful in dusty rooms where conventional smoke detectors are only partially effective for early fire detection.
