Perimeter protection

Perimeter protection refers to the protection of the outer boundaries of a building, site, or property against unauthorized access.

In short:

Goal: To detect or deter intruders before they enter the building.

Typical measures: Fences, walls, doors, gates, motion detectors, light barriers, surveillance cameras.

Commonly used in alarm systems, security services, and access control systems.

Difference to "internal protection": Perimeter = exterior, while interior areas are protected by additional security measures.
