Overview

The Dragino SDI-12-LB is an SDI-12 to LoRaWAN converter designed for Smart Agriculture solutions.

SDI-12 (Serial Digital Interface at 1200 baud) is an asynchronous serial communication protocol for smart sensors that monitor environmental data. The SDI-12 protocol is widely used in agricultural sensors and weather stations.

SDI-12-LB has SDI-12 interface and supports 12V output to power external SDI-12 sensors. It can obtain the environment data from SDI-12 sensor and sends the data via LoRaWAN wireless protocol.

The LoRa radio technology used in the SDI-12-LB enables the device to transmit data and achieve extremely long ranges at low data rates. It provides extremely long range spread spectrum communication with high interference immunity while consuming minimal power.

SDI-12-LB is powered by a 8500mAh Li-SOCI2 battery, which is designed for long-term use of up to 5 years.

Each SDI-12-LB is preloaded with a set of unique keys for LoRaWAN registrations. These keys are registered on the local LoRaWAN server and the connection is established automatically after power-up.
