A RESTful API is a programming interface (API) for integrating cloud and web-based systems, such as a cloud-based phone system and a web-based CRM system. The interface uses simple HTTP requests like GET, PUT, POST, and DELETE. The name is derived from Representational State Transfer (REST), a programming paradigm for distributed systems, especially cloud and web services.
