ISDN
ISDN (Integrated Services Digital Network) is a digital telecommunications network that has been used for telephony and data transmission since the 1990s. For the first time, an ISDN connection enabled multiple simultaneous telephone and data connections for residential customers. ISDN connections are now being replaced and phased out by broadband internet connections and IP telephony (VoIP).
