What does the message "Wrong code" mean? | Perform a code reset if the installer code and/or main administrator code are no longer known
# Secvest Touch wireless alarm system (FUAA50500)

Reading time: approx. 2 minutes

info

If you enter an incorrect code three times in a row on the local user interface , the alarm center will trigger an alarm .

Including any external alarm transmissions that may have been set up.

The same thing happens if you enter an incorrect code or user name three times in a row on the login screen of the web interface .

The message “Number of unauthorized login attempts exceeded…” also appears there.

If necessary, inform an emergency call and service control center (NSL) and possibly the neighbors.

The message "Wrong code" disappears after a few minutes. If the corresponding code (and user name) is still known, you can then access the alarm center again.

If the installer code and/or the main administrator code are no longer known , you must perform a code reset (= reset the codes and other user-related settings to factory settings).

The alarm center deletes:

  • all users
  • all proximity keys
  • all remote controls
  • all emergency transmitters

After the code reset, the alarm control panel will ask you to enter a new installer code and a new main administrator code.

The users can then be created again as normal by an administrator and their controls can be taught in on site.

If necessary: You can find out how to change known codes here .

0. Requirements

In order to perform a code reset, the following requirements must be met:

  • A screwdriver for opening the housing cover of the alarm control panel.
  • A metal object to bridge the code reset pins, such as a screwdriver or a pin bridge/jumper.

1. Perform code reset

  • If the installer code is still available : Enter the installer code at the local alarm control panel.
info

If you do not enter the installer mode , the control panel will automatically trigger an alarm when the housing is opened in the next step described.

This cannot be avoided without an installer code .

If necessary, inform an emergency call and service control center (NSL) and possibly the neighbors and first read the following two steps to be carried out in order to keep the alarm as short as possible; it usually lasts a few seconds until the entire power supply is disconnected.

The further process only works as long as the tamper switch on the housing cover is open (automatically when the cover is removed).

You must not press/clamp/operate/close the tamper contact in the housing in any way (yourself) as long as the housing must remain open in order to carry out the next steps.

  • Open the housing of the alarm control panel.

This causes the Secvest to report the sabotage alarm.

Danger

The connection work regarding the voltage/power supply in the next steps is subject to country-specific regulations.

  • Disconnect the power supply so that the system is completely voltage-free = unplug the battery(s) from the circuit board and interrupt the AC 230V mains voltage or unplug the DC 13.8V power supply.

The alarm will now go off.

  • Short-circuit the two “Reset Codes Pins” using a screwdriver or jumper.

The reset code pins are located on the Secvest circuit board at the top right (top view), below the SD card holder.

  • Reconnect the power supply including batteries.

The wall tear-off and cover contact for sabotage monitoring must still not be activated.

After a short pause, the alarm control panel now deletes all user settings. After about 20 seconds, the "code reset" is complete, which the Secvest confirms with a short acoustic signal.

    • Remove the short circuit on the “Reset Codes Pins”.
    • When prompted, enter the new installer code and the new main administrator code (= code for “User 001”).
    • Close the housing and thus also the tamper switch on the lid.
