How do I change the image resolution?
Adjust video quality up/down | Make live stream smoother with poor reception
# ABUS WLAN pan tilt outdoor camera (PPIC42520), ABUS WLAN outdoor camera (PPIC44520), ABUS WLAN privacy indoor camera (PPIC31020), ABUS WLAN light outdoor camera (PPIC46520)
Reading time: approx. 2 minutes
Change image resolution:
- In the app, go to: Camera overview > Live view > Camera settings > Video settings > Video quality
- Tap the desired image resolution (depending on the camera model: high, medium, low).
Due to the volume of video data, you may experience difficulties retrieving/viewing the live image if:
- your mobile device has poor reception.
- (if the camera is operating via WLAN) your home network/WLAN is heavily used by other users.
A lower image resolution results in less video data, which means the app generally displays the live image more smoothly.
Regardless, the camera saves recordings with an image resolution of 4 megapixels (only ABUS WLAN light outdoor camera) or 2 megapixels (1080p/Full HD).
If necessary, try to improve your local Wi-Fi signal to make retrieving the images smoother.
