The AS-3310 is the latest 2D barcode scanner model from ARTDEV and combines support for 2D barcodes such as QR codes with Bluetooth-based wireless operation at an affordable price.
Its newly developed barcode optics with support for both barcodes and 2D barcodes such as QR codes or Datamatrix codes supports reading ranges from short range to long range with suitable barcode size. For easy selection of the barcode to be read, the AS-3310 generates a dot on the scanning surface, which can then be positioned on the barcode for fast recognition.
To support credit or coupon codes, the AS-3310 also reads barcodes from smartphone displays, which means fast and direct interaction with the customer. This function is also of interest when used in access control systems or gates.
The charging station of the AS-3310 is also the base station for wireless Bluetooth transmission and supports operating ranges of up to 30 meters. Its small size allows the ARTDEV AS-3310 barcode scanner to be used even in places where space is at a premium. The barcode reader is charged in an upright position and therefore also supports the auto-detection function. This means that the AS-3310 can be set to read barcodes on objects without manual activation of the trigger. Security functions such as the prevention of multiple scans of the same barcode within a certain time offer maximum security and user-friendliness.
Compared to manual barcode scanning, the auto-detection function has the enormous advantage that the reader does not have to be picked up to scan the barcode, leaving both hands free for the goods.
The scanned barcodes are transferred from the base station to the cash register or PC via a USB cable connection. This USB connection is normally also the power supply for the wireless connection or for charging the battery in the barcode reader. However, because the power supply goes out as soon as the cash register or PC is switched off at the end of the working day, the scanner is often not charged overnight and therefore often does not have enough power for a full operating shift the next day. For this reason, the ARTDEV AS-3310 is supplied with an additional power supply unit, which is responsible for the power supply and thus ensures problem-free operation the following day.
There are colored lights on the head of the AS-3310 that visually indicate the status of the barcode reader. In places where the familiar acoustic beeps cannot be used - for example in libraries or museums - the same confirmations are displayed for successful barcode scans, active charging functions or similar.
